Ward III: Brian Schmid

Councilmember Brian Schmid is focused on collaborating with residents to identify areas most in need of improvement, and to quickly implement remediation projects with a well-established record of success.  He hopes to bring human-scale development, with a heavy emphasis on walkability and economic resiliency, to the city.  As a Mission resident since 2008, he previously served on both the Parks, Recreation, & Tree Commission and the Planning Commission.

Outside of council, Brian works as a senior consultant at the strategic marketing and execution firm, Inverta.  He holds a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Kansas, where he also attended as an undergrad.

In his personal life, you can find him and his wife, Lauren (and sometimes their Westie, Kristofferson), out and about in Mission.  Please stop and say hi if you see them!
