Help Mission’s elderly and disabled residents when leaves and snow fall. Leaf Busters and Snow Angels are seasonal volunteer programs that match residents with volunteers who will clear leaves and yard debris and shovel snow. Matches are made as they are requested, and as schedules allow. Adding your name to the contact list does not obligate you to volunteer each time you are called.
Enhance our community by adopting a section of Mission’s streets. Our Adopt-A-Street program is open to community organizations who are interested in beautifying our streets by removing litter from the public right-of-way. Click here to learn more.
Keep Mission’s parks looking their best! Community groups are invited to adopt a park and will receive training on basic park maintenance. Contact Mission Parks & Recreation for more information at 913.722.8200.
The Mission Market is on Thursdays in Downtown Mission during the summer season. Each week, “Market ambassadors” welcome visitors, help answer questions and assist the Market Coordinator with setup and cleanup. There are two shifts available between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Volunteer opportunities may be limited due to COVID-19 safety concerns. Email Kate Deacon or call 913.676.8374.
