Education Sessions

This year Go Green 2023! is introducing 20-minute educational sessions, along the theme “How to live a more sustainable and environmentally friendly life.” Exhibitors will lead presentations that fit into the categories of Home, Transportation, Clothing, Food, Travel and Daily Life. Education Sessions 2023:

9:30 a.m. Ripple Glass – Ripple Glass will present a brief history of the company, the benefits of glass recycling, what can be recycled, what happens to the recycled glass, and how to locate a nearby purple bin.
10:00 a.m. Stitching Change – With consumers around the world buying and discarding the latest fast fashion at an alarming rate, this session will inform attendees about how to help reverse this clothing industry trend while supporting garment industry workers, as well as the environment.
10:30 a.m. Elevate Organic Salon + Spa – Elevate Organic Salon + Spa will illuminate the wasteful nature of the beauty industry, how consumers can vote with their dollars to encourage change, and what health and wellness businesses can do to increase sustainability.
11:00 a.m. Climate Action KC – Attendees to this session will learn about the Regional Climate Action Plan recently published by Climate Action KC with the Mid-America Regional Council, which aims to help local leaders mitigate climate change by achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
11:30 a.m. Missouri Organic – Worms Eat My Garbage will be a lively hands-on session by compost expert Stan Slaughter, who will use sing-along songs, hands-on examination of worms, and free posters to teach participants the basics of worm composting.
