Celebration Tree Program
Life is full of occasions to celebrate – the lives of loved ones, weddings, anniversaries, retirements, etc. The City of Mission Parks, Recreation + Tree Commission’s Celebration Tree Program offers opportunities to plant a tree in one of our parks to recognize those moments.
A donation to the City of Mission covers the cost of the tree, the installation of the tree, and the maintenance of the tree for the duration of its life. Donations are accepted in the following amounts based on the size of tree requested:
- $599 – 2” caliper tree
- $799 – 3” caliper tree
- $2,250 – 5” caliper tree
An additional donation of $375 will purchase a 9″ x 5″ cast bronze plaque to personalize the tree in the park. Space is limited to 150 characters.
Donors will receive a certificate and a map of the tree’s location within the park. A list of available species and parks are available by contacting Parks + Recreation at 913.722.8200. Trees will be planted during the fall and spring planting seasons, though requests can be made at any time.
