Yard Waste

Mow Your Leaves

Mulching your leaves into your yard is an environmentally friendly alternative to raking leaves off your yard. The leaves break down and provide valuable nutrients into your lawn, and you can avoid bagging them! You can also let leaves naturally decompose in a compost pile behind the rear building setback line (in manner that does not create a nuisance, an offensive sight or offensive odors).

Disposal of Yard Waste

Yard waste will be collected at the curb on your regular service day and cannot be mixed with trash or recycling. Please place yard waste in biodegradable paper bags or in homeowner-provided containers clearly marked “Yard Waste.” Plastic bags will not be accepted. Bags should be separate from trash and recycling carts at the curb. Items should not weigh more than 40 pounds, and there is a 10 bag/bundle limit.

Accepted yard waste materials include:

  • Grass clippings
  • Leaves
  • Plants
  • Small shrubs
  • Limbs less than 2 inches in diameter
  • Tree branches and limbs must be tied with string or twine in bundles no more than four (4) feet long and 18 inches in diameter. Bundles should not weigh more than 40 pounds.
  • Christmas trees that have been cut into sections no more than four (4) feet in length. All decorations and tinsel must be removed.

Materials that are not considered yard waste and will not be collected include:

  • Wood fencing
  • Landscape timbers
  • Flower pots
  • Yard decoration
  • Mulch, rock, dirt and similar items
