City Events

Matchday at the Market

World class soccer is coming to Kansas City, and the city of Mission is right in the action. Join us in conjunction with the Mission Market for a matchday celebration at Broadmoor Park on Thursday, June 25 from 4:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Food and drink vendors, all of your market favorites, and a night of world class sports and the best our local lineups have to offer.

Johnson County Parks & Recreation District Events

The Johnson County Parks and Recreation Department (JCPRD) is planning several events related to the World Cup.

Johnson County Soccer Celebration

This is a free multi-day, family-friendly event at JCPRD’s Theatre in the Park. On select dates, the park will show live matches on a new 20’ x 30’ outdoor LED screen for up to 2,500 guests.

It will also include food trucks, live entertainment during breaks, activities for kids and adults, public art experiences, and more.

KC Unity Cup

JCPRD is organizing a community-wide soccer tournament with sixteen teams competing in a 7v7 format. It will take place on June 6 & 7 at Heritage Soccer Park.

Teams will represent their countries of origin, celebrating heritage, culture, and community.

The competition is open to all adult players (18+) across the Kansas City metro, with men and women playing on the same team. To participate: fill out this interest form.

Transportation

ConnectKC26

ConnectKC26 is the area’s official bus service for FIFA World Cup 2026™, offering a fleet of comfortable motorcoach buses that will run from June 11-July 13. Riders will need a pass to use the transit system. Transportation passes for both the ConnectKC26 routes and Johnson County United routes are available now!

Region Direct

ConnectKC26’s Region Direct provides service to and from the FIFA Fan Festival™ as well as 15 regional sites. Get your Region Direct passes here!

Johnson County stops include:

The Mission Transit Center is located at 5251 Johnson Drive next to the Mission Mart Shopping Center. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis for both routes that go through the transit center. Riders are encouraged to consider alternate means of transportation to arrive at the transit center.

Stadium Direct

ConnectKC26 will offer motorcoach bus service from FIFA Fan Festival™ or one of four park-and-ride sites to Kansas City Stadium (Arrowhead) on match days only. The nearest park-and-ride site to Mission is Oak Park Mall, located at 11149 W. 95 St., Overland Park, KS. Get your Stadium Direct passes here!

Mission residents and visitors can access the Stadium Direct route from the Mission Transit Center by connecting to either Oak Park Mall or FIFA Fan Festival™, where you can then transfer to the Stadium Direct route.

ConnectKC26’s Airport Service to Downtown KCMO

Express transportation between Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and the FIFA Fan Festival™ in downtown Kansas City, MO.

The bus service will be available from June 11 through July 13, with service expected to run every 15 minutes. Book your Airport Service pass here!.

Johnson County United Link

This public transit circulator route will connect several Johnson County cities as a supplement to the greater regional system. Get your Johnson County United Link tickets here!

Three routes will overlap at Oak Park Mall, connecting the following cities:

  • Leawood
  • Lenexa
  • Merriam
  • Mission
  • Olathe
  • Overland Park
  • Shawnee

Enterprise Center of Johnson County

Mission Transit Center

The Mission Transit Center (MTC) was identified as one of 15 Region Direct stops KC2026 will be operating transit service to and from the FIFA Fan Festival™. In addition to the Region Direct service, the Johnson County Government is operating its United Link service connecting Johnson County neighborhoods with the various KC2026 services. The Johnson County Link will also include a stop at the MTC.  Both transit routes require digital tickets which can be purchased here.  

Staff has been working to address multiple operational areas in preparation for the anticipated influx of visitors associated with the event. 

Please use this MTC activation map to find vehicle parking, bicycle and scooter drop off points, and rideshare drop off points.
