👮‍♀️ Ever wondered what really happens behind the scenes at the Mission Police Department?

Applications are now open for the 2026 Mission Citizens Police Academy! Join us for a 10-week interactive program beginning September 10, 2026, and get an inside look at modern policing in Mission.

Participants will:
🚔 Tour the police station and explore patrol equipment
🐕 Watch a live K-9 demonstration
👮 Meet and question Mission officers during an officer panel
🧠 Learn about crisis intervention, mental health co-response, and investigations
📞 Tour the Johnson County Communications Center
🎯 Experience realistic police training scenarios using the MILO simulator
🍺 Test your skills with DUI impairment goggles
🏍️ See motorcycle officers demonstrate their riding abilities
🔍 Learn about internal affairs, domestic violence investigations, officer-involved shooting investigations, and more

Participants will also have the opportunity to complete a ride-along with a Mission Police officer. Classes will be held Thursday evenings from September 10 through November 12, concluding with a graduation dinner and certificate presentation. Space is limited, so apply early!
