Beware of Scammers: City of Mission staff are hearing reports of telephone calls from individuals claiming to be from the Mission Police Department. The caller has generally said they are calling regarding a “legal matter.” It is anticipated the scammers will be attempting to threaten potential victims with arrest or other punishment if they do not send money to them. Scammers will often request payments be made via various gift cards or wire transfer services.

The Mission Police Department, nor the Mission Municipal Court will demand payments via telephone, nor will either entity accept gift cards or wire transfer payments.
