FAQs
- How do renewals work with this new system? Easy! An email will go out to license holders 60 days prior to the license expiration with easy instructions and links to renew and pay. Licenses that are up for renewal must be renewed through the link provided in order to keep license data current and accurate. If you can’t find your renewal email, please contact us and we can quickly send it again. Please also make sure to keep email addresses up to date for proper delivery.
- How is payment done now? Payment for all licenses and permits will be available online through a fully secure online payment portal that is built into our new online platform. Once an application has been approved an email will notify the applicant that it’s time for payment with a secure link to pay. We are also able to accept payment in person at City Hall.
- How will issued licenses and permits be obtained once approved and paid for? Issued licenses and permits will be generated quickly upon approval and a link to download and print the license or permit will be emailed to the applicant.
- Can I still come to City Hall to apply for a license or permit? You are more than welcome to walk-in to apply as you always have. We will direct you to a public terminal to access the software system where you will create a unique user account and submit your application in the same way you would from a computer, phone, or tablet at home or at work. Paper applications for all of the license and permit types offered through GovBuilt will no longer be accepted.
