June Declared Pride Month in Mission
June 03, 2026

Mayor Flora has declared June to be LGBTQ+ Pride Month in the City of Mission. Pride Month is a celebration of community, visibility, and the ongoing work to ensure that every person is treated with dignity and respect. It is also an opportunity to recognize the many LGBTQ+ residents, business owners, employees, volunteers, and community leaders who help make Mission a stronger, more vibrant, and more welcoming place.

As we recognize Pride Month, we celebrate not only diversity, but also the values of inclusion, understanding, and acceptance that help build strong communities. We acknowledge the progress that has been made, while recognizing that there is always more work to do to ensure that all people feel welcome and valued. To our LGBTQ+ community members, Mayor Flora wants you to know that you are an important part of Mission’s story. You belong in Mission, you matter in Mission, and you help make our community better.

On behalf of the City Council and the residents of Mission, Mayor Flora is proud to proclaim June as Pride Month and encourages everyone to join in celebrating the diversity that strengthens our community.
