We appreciate your continued patience as the Johnson Drive Reconstruction Project progresses. As part of the project, crews will be completing a stormwater connection to an existing, active stormwater system. This work is necessary to connect the new stormwater improvements to the existing system and will require a temporary closure of Johnson Drive in both directions between Metcalf Lane and Broadmoor Street.
This closure is currently scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, and Thursday, September 17, and is weather dependent. If weather requires a change in the work schedule, we will use digital communication methods to provide updates.
To complete this work safely, Johnson Drive will need to be fully closed between Metcalf Lane and Broadmoor Street during the overnight work hours from 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Traffic control will be moved at 5:00 a.m. to allow for east-west passage along Johnson Drive.
To accommodate for the Johnson Drive closure and provide access to businesses, Barkley Street at Johnson Drive will be opened up for northbound and southbound travel during the 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. closure times. We have included maps for your convenience and to pass along to your customers and staff.
Please utilize the following detour routes and share these with your customers, neighbors, and staff for the best way to access those affected businesses along Johnson Drive. In addition to these detours, access to Johnson Drive businesses still is available from Martway for the businesses on the south of Johnson Drive, and Foxridge for the businesses on the north of Johnson Drive.
Westbound Johnson Drive: North(right) on Broadmoor, east (left) on W 56th Street, north (left) on Metcalf, U-turn at W 52nd Street, south on Metcalf to Metcalf Lane.
Eastbound Johnson Drive: Metcalf Lane to southbound Metcalf, to eastbound (left) W 61st Street, to northbound (left) Broadmoor Street, to eastbound (right) on Martway, to northbound (left) on Lamar to westbound (left) Johnson Drive.

The overnight closure is necessary to complete the stormwater connection while minimizing impacts during the daytime and weekend hours.
