In the tradition of past years, the 2008 "Spirit of Mission Days" event will be a day filled with music, food, and family fun. The Spirit of Mission Days will be held on the grounds of the Sylvester Powell, Jr. Community Center at 6200 Martway.
This year we will feature a carnival, a parade, a bike rodeo for the kids, and bands for your entertainment.
Friday evening, May 9th will start the Annual Spirit of Mission Days with a special presentation by the musicians of Shawnee Mission North High School. Five groups from our local high school, will entertain from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Once again we'll start Saturday's events with a pancake breakfast provided by the Shawnee Mission Rotary Club. The Abdallah Shriner's Parade will be held starting at 10:00 a.m. on Johnson Drive between Beverly and Nall streets. The carnival starts at noon in the parking lot of the Sylvester Powell, Jr. Community Center.
