Posted on Tuesday July 02, 2019
There are currently open seats on Mission's Parks, Recreation, and Tree Commission. Submit a resume to apply.
The Parks, Recreation, and Tree Commission has several vacancies. If you are interested in serving, please submit a resume to the City Clerk, Martha Sumrall, at or 913-676-8355. Positions are open for residents from any ward. There is also a space available for a Mission business representative and for a youth member from an area high school.

The Parks, Recreation, and Tree Commission helps plan and guide the activities of the Parks and Recreation department, and provides recommendations on the management of the Parks Master Plan. The group identifies and protects Mission's trees and landscaping, and fulfilles the requirements of maintainting Mission's status as a Tree City USA (since 2002).

The group has regular meetings on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m., with regular opportunities for volunteering at special events, and on sub-committees as each member's availability allows.
