Last Updated: October 29, 2019 Broadmoor AsphaltTraffic striping on the new asphalt on Broadmoor between Johnson Drive and Martway Street is completed. Traffic is now open in both directions. Crews are switching to the work in the Johnson Drive and Broadmoor intersection this week. There will be traffic impacts throughout the construction in the intersection, but those will be minimized as much as possible.   Please use extra caution in the area and obey all traffic signs.
Project Details The project includes full-depth street reconstruction between Johnson Drive and Martway, stormwater upgrades, new street lighting, improved sidewalk connectivity, and reduced lane width for an improved pedestrian experience. A new traffic signal installed at the Johnson Drive and Broadmoor intersection, and the intersection will be treated with mill and overlay.
Completed Work
Traffic striping on Broadmoor south of Johnson Drive Asphalt has been placed on the road bed south of Johnson Drive Bases of street lights and the traffic signal have been set. Installation of street light bases. Pouring sidewalks and curb on the east and west sides of Broadmoor. Laying first two layers of asphalt on the east side of the street. Demolition of concrete and pavement on the eastern side of the project. Installation of stormwater infrastructure on eastern side of the project. Utility relocations have been completed. - Johnson County Wastewater has completed their work in the area. - AT&T has completed repair to manhole covers in the Johnson Drive intersection. - Kansas Gas has completed relocations of their utility lines in the area. - WaterOne has completed replacing the water line in Broadmoor Street between Martway and Johnson Drive.
