The City of Mission Parks and Recreation and 156 brave participants are attempting to improve their lives with increased activity, a more well-balanced diet and better lifestyle choices.
On May 9, 2010, we had our first Sunday session, where we went over the orientation to the program, health concerns of obesity, the hunger scale, increasing activity levels and the five objectives of Phase I of the diet.
The five objectives of Phase I are:
o Eat 3 Square Meals a Day and a Snack
o Increase your activity level
o Stop eating at least two hours before bed time
o Stay hydrated...at least six (6) eight ounce glasses of water a day
o Bolster your diet with daily supplements (including Omega 3)
The six objectives of Phase II (Part I) are:
o No or Limited (1 Diet/Diet A Day) Soft Drinks.
o Avoid Transfats
o Avoid Fried Food
o Avoid White Bread
o No or Limited Alcohol
o Avoid High Fat Milk and High Fat Yogurt
